Error message: code has already been used
In some cases, you may see an error message indicating that your code has already been used. If you haven't redeemed your code yet, don't worry. This message may be displayed because of one of the following reasons: you entered your Just Eat code for checkout of your order and then...
- ...your payment failed
- ...you changed your bank during checkout
- ...your internet connection broke down
- ...you closed your internet browser
- ...you closed the tab in your internet browser
- ...you closed the Just Eat app on your smartphone/tablet
- ...You went to the previous page on your internet browser
When you enter a code while ordering on Just Eat, the code will be reserved for that payment. If the above happens (accidentally), your code will be reserved and temporarily unavailable. This necessary measure from Just Eat is unfortunately put in place to prevent misuse of codes.
Reserved codes that have not been used are released periodically. This is done through an automated process and, unfortunately, cannot be accelerated. Occasionally, it only takes 15 minutes, but it can also take longer. By 00:00 a.m. at the latest, all reserved codes can be used again.
Check balance
Follow the steps below to check the remaining balance on your Just Eat code. Following the steps below may make it look like you're about to place an order, but don't worry: this only happens when you actually complete the payment.
- Visit the Just Eat website.
- Enter the address to which you want your order to be delivered to.
- Select your favorite restaurant, add the desired meal(s) to your shopping cart, and click on Go to checkout.
- Log in with your Just Eat account or continue as a guest.
- Select your desired payment method, click on I have a discount voucher, enter the code and click on Apply. The (remaining) credit of your Just Eat code will now be displayed. Only when you complete your order, you will redeem the code.

Do you get an error message saying that your code has already been used? As soon as we have received the payment, your code will be activated (= made usable) and delivered immediately. - Check the transaction history of the account where you redeemed the code.
- Restart the device and log in again. This ensures that your credit is updated.
